Paul Denning
Paul DenningPaul has raised capital for funds based in the U.S., Asia, UK/Europe, Russia and Israel. From 1995 to 2000, he was Managing Director of Hambrecht & Quist's Private Equity Market Group in San Francisco. Following the Chase Manhattan acquisition in late 1999, Paul was integrated as co-head into Chase Capital Partners' Private Fund Group and subsequently, the merger with JP Morgan in 2001.

Prior to joining Hambrecht & Quist, Paul was a Managing Director at Robertson, Stephens & Company, a Limited Partner at Montgomery Securities and a Principal at Sutro & Company. Paul has been involved in the investment banking industry for over 30 years. He served seven years, pro bono, as a Trustee and Commissioner of the City and County of San Francisco Employees' Retirement System, a $10 billion pension plan.

He is a frequent speaker at private equity conferences throughout the world. Paul served on the Steering Committee, which founded the Counsel for Institutional Shareholders. He has published several industry publications including: "How to Sell Restricted Securities, a Guide to Rule 144" and "Stock Distribution, a Guide for Venture Capitalists". For the past 10 years he has hosted the Annual Private Equity CFO Conferences in San Francisco, London and Hong Kong and has co-chaired the annual Public Funds Board Forums in San Francisco for the past 12 years.

Paul graduated with honors from the University of Akron, Ohio and later received his Masters Degree in Public Finance. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviator from 1966 to 1970.
